My new oud by Hamid Ghorbanzade
my new oud is finally ready. this is exactly how I want my fixed bridge oud to be. the look, the sound. there is nothing better for my taste. of
course I asked him to do several customization.
anyway, here is the specifications:
The top is very good German spruce. special thanks to my good friend and forum member Miguel Rodriguez in 2012 (I don't remember his forum
nickname).
The bowl, neck and peg box cover are made of Jag (Iranian rosewood).
The finger board is Indian ebony.
The pegs are made of Indian rosewood with ebony rings and balls.
The Bridge also is made of Indian rosewood.
String length is 57 cm.
I will try to post an audio sample soon.
The Oud is my life, n my life is the Oud

I saw this oud on facebook. I follow his work.
he is a really promissing maker in my opinion. very clean work.
congratulations.
May I ask that you describe the neck mechanism he uses works? its one of the more unusual methods of adjustment mechanism I have found.
It looks very advanced any ways.

Thank you Samir
His system is really good. easier than sukar method to use, less visual change than fadi matta and the oud can have a shams. its a simple allen screw
which pushes the the neck. the finger board is 2mm ebony and easily bends when adjusting. this allows him to install the fingerboard in one piece and
makes the oud more beautiful (sukar finger boards are cut in 2 pieces).

Totally agree With you spyblaster!
Simply beautifull. Congratulations.
Would love to hear it.
P.s. What are the dimentions? Looks more like barbat dimentions?
Looks more like a Mohammadi Brothers oud??
The wood might be dead, but the oud is alive.

no no I hate that "barbat" thing!
its his small bowl oud. width is 33 cm and depth is 16cm.
u are right, Mohammadi bros recent ouds are like this, single shams with no raqma. Hamid usually doesnt make such these oud even if he gets order.
