This's the first time we see M. Fadel's oud with a different rosette saying:
Dr. Ahmad Sa'doun something ! A better shot of the rose is needed.
What does this suppose to mean ? Is he the owner ? Is it a rosette replacing the original. I wonder !
Please advise.
Thank you

This oud use to belong to a famous Iraqi doctor called Ahmad Sadoon Khalifa, I believe that he passed away. That's what I know.
More pictures for you.

It appears to be authentic. The fingerboard may have been replaced, as this looks like ebony rather than the Bakelite usually used by Fadel.
However, since this seems to have been a special custom oud, the unusual fingerboard could be original I suppose.

please be logical the old telephone numbers back in Baghdad was only four digit and then 5 and then seven at the late 80s or 90s. and even though the
number is for Adhamya shop that my grand-pa move d in the 80and the oud is 1977,
there are lots of Qs on this piece, as we don't make a person Name on Rossetti only is a rare cases and if we do we do perfect not an imperfect one
this.
so that would give us a question is it a fadel oud but all the face was rebuild by other oudmaker? the back is not clear on picture but looks that is
is less that than the usual number of ribs, if I am not mistaken and thank you for your patient.
This is MUstafa Faik Mohammed Fadhel and regards to all.

It appears the original post has been removed by Zakiya . . . ghost thread!
To amend my earlier comments, it does appear like it could be authentic (as in, not an obvious fake like many we have seen from Syria), but one should
be careful buying vintage instruments by famous makers over the internet.
It seems that we have a fairly definitive refutation of the oud's authenticity by Mr. Fadhel.
