Videos Samir Makhoul summer course

We did a summer course with Samer Makhoul at Arles, South France. We spent 3 days learning fm master Makhoul, fantastic.
At the end he gave us some partitions to work and we asked him to play them, so we can work them.

This is Itar al Ghajar by Anwar Brahim.
http://zalzalya.multiply.com/video/item/25

If it works i have 1 or two more to upload.
The partition is right here.

Once you have learn it pls post yr rendition of Itar al Ghajar...

BTW do not hesitate to register yourself to any course that Sameer may offer near yours. No doubt you will elevate yr level. What a teacher!!!

I have heard from a few people that took lessons with Samir Mahoul here in Israel, that he is such a nice personality and great teacher and of course great musician.

Exactly Marina, "nice personality + great teacher + great musician".
As teacher he can gather different levels and at the end we played a piece together which sounded nice. People who does not read solfege, people who just started playing oud, semi professional players, all together playing and enjoying.
The piece is built and arranged together, and all initiatives and contributions fm students are integrated.
He even made us sung together...
He also detects exactly individual problems on hand techniques, body positions, sounds and accents, etc etc.
As a musician he is as good interpreter as composer as arranger as group director as singer.
Bravo Ustaz Samir Makhoul....and thank you

This one is Askadar with a small taqsim at the beginning meanwhile other students prepared their recorders...

Sorry for the sided image for a while in the middle of the clip, it was the first time i shooted with this digital photo camera..

As Jason remarked, Sameer ornamentations and accents creates lot of beauty even when the pieces seems simple...
