English, but Australian born. I work in the Gulf as a surveyor. I studied Arabic and Persian at the University of Durham in the UK in 1999, and am studying towards a PhD in Classics at the moment.
Musical interests are oud and setar/tar.
Prefered artists on the oud are currently Munir Bashir for contemplative music, Mohammad Abdo and Abadi al-Jawhar (when solo!) for Penninsular music.
