Hailing from Boston, TERY LEMANIS is an accomplished and versatile musician. His current projects include: ESTHEMA (original world-fusion ensemble - oud & bouzouki), THE BRAIN POLICE (Frank Zappa tribute - guitar & vocals), DANCING GYPSY BAND (traditional Arabic/Middle Eastern - oud), DUDOCHKA (Balkan/Eastern European ensemble - guitar) and THE LEMANIS ENSEMBLE (traditional Greek/Turkish/Middle Eastern - bouzouki & oud).
At the age of 14, Tery's first EP with his first band SPLURGE was self-released. At 16, his drumming was heard all across eastern Massachusetts as GHOUL SQUAD was broadcasted on commercial rock radio. At 18, Tery was accepted to Berklee College of Music, where he studied guitar with NORM ZOCHER and DAVID FIUCZYNSKI.
During his time at Berklee, Tery participated in their first ever study abroad program in Athens, Greece at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, where he studied Byzantine and Greek music, along with private instruction on the Oud (w/ THOMAS KONSTADINOU of TAKIM), Bouzouki (w/ GIORGOS KRIONAS), and Guitar (w/ COSTAS BALTAZANIS).
At 22, Tery graduated Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Guitar Performance and is currently is a faculty member at the New School of Music and Cambridgeport Community School in Cambridge, MA and also teaches for Plugged In, a teen band program in Needham, MA.
