Ararat66 - 8-22-2007 at 01:36 PM
Hello this is Leon from the south coast of England doing a little late night oudling on the sly - I know those are karate trousers but they'll all be
wearing em tomorrow. Sorry about the hair folk hehe - but I am terrible at poker.
Best wishes all of you - this is a great forum - so good to see photos of you.
Cheers

who made your guittern?michoud - 8-28-2007 at 10:38 AM
Hi zoukboy!!
I don´t know wich luthier maked radixfc guittern, but I can tell you one of the best luthiers of ancient and medieval instruments in Spain, his name
is Jesus Reolid : http://ret007ei.eresmas.net/reolid/index.html
He is a very very good person and a very good luthier ( more than 20 years making musical instruments)radixfc - 8-28-2007 at 10:20 PM
the luthier is Javier martinez teruel... it´s not mine, it´s from a project guided by other luthier: Evaristo Bretos. Last year a group of luthiers
(incluiding Jesus reolid) made a reconstruction of the instruments sculpted on pamplona´s chathedral refectory. I was called to play the guittern and
the citole, and the photo belongs to the press presentation.
here I post the guittern´s file:rebetostar - 8-30-2007 at 01:28 PM

Rufi.........how long did it take you to grow the stash, dread? I think anyone who has seen the picture of Nahat wants to look like that. Good one.
I'll see if I can come up with a good pic. Lintfree

Hi folks,
That is my band and me with cobza.....
stringmanca - 9-12-2007 at 03:16 PM
No, I don't always dress like this! I played at a Moroccan-themed party at a winery in Geyserville (California) last weekend.
This image is attached by Agapanthos.
It was taken, this summer, in the garden of Arkoudaina( "big bear") a tavern located at White Mountains area in Crete.

Scary huh!
The lute is my reconstruction of an early 16th lute by Laux Maler - (see "Oud or Lute" by Dr Oud in the Oud Project forum).
The hair is genuine - first half of 20th C - but a different colour from when it started out!
Great forum Mike and friends - happy to be part of it.AGAPANTHOS - 9-28-2007 at 01:53 AM
Hello everybody,
Its true that our profile could be more complete from the moment that all these ouds we keep in our hands will give a sound (a pulse of our soul).
A short improvisation could be the best sample. That's why I attach the following short video. It was recorded in a tavern by a mobile phone. This
could easily explains the bad quality of the sound. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=ADAMPAPADAM
At last here I am

Cool story that goes with the pic... Also called, "why my wife is the best"
Every time her family comes into town, we make the pilgrimage to Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens... Now I guess I should say that God in his wisdom
did not grant me an appreciation for Gardens... Don't get me wrong, I think flowers are pretty, and I believe I'm able to appreciate ONE flower... or
even a small bouquet... But 3 hours of walking around an looking at plants just ain't my cup of tea... even if they are all pretty... Truth be told,
I'd rather watch paint dry.... And since 'family' was involved, staying home was not an option for me..."
When I got to the car on Sunday morning... my wife had set my Oud in the back seat... Talk about a nice surprize.... Her plan was for her and my
mother-in-law to walk the gardens and then stop by and visit me occasionally while I played...Raabiah - 7-9-2008 at 02:20 PM

Anywhere is paradise if the things you love are there
I grew up in Southern Italy (Napoli) and I miss the sea... but there aren't many places I've liked more than North Carolina in the Fall....

Very nice photo, Chris. It looks as a paradise for me!
For me too !
I moved around the great lakes area and I miss this atmosphere of big houses with porches to drink coffee in the morning and play music in the
evening... It must be nice to play under your porch Christian1095 !David.B - 9-25-2009 at 10:05 PM
