Time is upon us

UK's first ever oud gathering

The main event will be a lecture in Oud history, development, oud making, the Egyptian oud and music will be given by Dr. Michael Mussa "who has just got back from Egypt with more to show and talk about, I can't waite " with a display of some of his ouds and Nays with music samples in between

The rest of the day will be mainly in getting to know each other and play, play, play and play more music and more
there will be sandwiches and light refreshments to share "I'm fasting" we may go for a meal in the evening at the famously attractive curry mile " a road full of resturants, cafe's and light entertainment venues especially shesha houses"

Hi! Just got a question, is this community hall free to enter? Just want to make sure. Did you book it or something, or is it just a place where anybody from the public can enter and meet up anytime?

Also, I fixed my Oud peg problem but I don't think I'll bring my Oud. From the sound of it there will be a lot of good Ouds and mine will just be glanced at, then put to the side of the room and at the end I'll have to carry the thing all the way back home!

Bus times are rubbish to get to Manchester, if we came on the bus we'd have to go home 1 hour after arriving. Train times are no better either, but will probably have 2 hours or so to chat, play and listen. How many people do we know are coming?

the answer for your first question is above, all will be covered my friend "people in the regions where the oud origionated will do even more for a guest", the whole idea is for people to meet and get the oud ball rolling

Don't worry about an oud there will be plenty available

so far we've got about ten people coming for certain + many promised

If you needed a lift from any of the stations, give us a shout ..
