Can you please explain the cryptic sentence above? Do you mean that separate takes were panned hard-left and hard-right? So what about the octave

It LOOKS like he means what you said, and also that one side is an octave lower... but it SOUNDS like one side, (right) is going through some kind of
octave divider, possibly software, there is a doubling of the oud at an octave lower, mixed under the original oud, I'm guessing it didn't track too
well, which is why it's mixed so low.
By the way, Hakan, impeccably played, (as always)! Interesting arrangement.

But not my thing. Too much shredding! For me sounds like an electric guitar virtuoso. Personally I like the oud when it sound slow and enchanting.
well It all depends on each players view. Eveyone is entitled with his own opinions.
