Hi folks!
I´ll travel to Morocco, and of course I want to take my oud with me.
I will visit the Sahara areas, Er Rachidia, Erfoud, Zagora...
What do you think?
Can my oud has problems, with the dry weather, and the change of temperatures?Kelly - 1-21-2010 at 01:26 PM
Hi Michoud
Dry is not bad but sudden and extreme changes in temp and humidity is- so try to aclimatise you and your oud, keep it in a case in shady part of the
room or where ever you are and give it time to adjust to new surroundings before getting it out and playing. If you have a second oud bring it with
you instead of your favourite. or buy a cheap one whilst you are out there! you might want to get a hygrometer to put in your oud case so that you can
monitor temperature and relative humidity.

Dear friend, the dry weather is one of the greatest problems....
The Humidity for an oud must be not less than 35% and not more than 55-60%,the Ideal is 45%.T%he temperature must not be lower than 18 grades of
Celcious and not Higher than 35-36....the Ideal is 25....
It's your choice....

Hola, Michel.
Siempre me he preguntado cómo pueden
¿Volarás directo a Marruecos o pasas por Madrid?michoud - 1-22-2010 at 06:08 AM
Aupa Luis!
Thanks Spyros !pepbcn - 1-22-2010 at 10:47 PM
Hola, Michel.
Can my oud has problems, with the dry weather, and the change of temperatures?
It depends of the climate in which the oud was build. If it is build may be in Syria ( Sukar ) the risk is not so big. If it is build in our climate
with an average humidity of 60% then you may be get Problems. I glue on my bars at about 40 - 45 %. Then the risk is low. Last year I had 5 instrumnts
with me in Damascus and there was no problem.
