Two of the instruments that were played in Turkish Ottoman music were "Sehrud & Santur" (S in Sehrud pronounced Sh like in shine). These two
instruments were abandoned at the end of 17th century. Sehrud is said to be the origin of the Turkish Oud that we know nowadays. But guys listen to
it's sound and how bass it is.
This piece is on "Nesabur Makam" Taksims
Enjoy...

A few month ago, someone posted a video from youtube of a tv show (lebanese maybe ?) where someone played a very big oud. It was so big that it must
be held between the legs. A sort of contrabass.
I can't find it anymore.
Could someone help ?
And yes the sehrud sounds very nice.
