LOCKED!

ALAMI - 4-19-2010 at 01:53 PM

Dear "son of Arab Oud Designing King",

As far as I know, people around here, even the conservatives, are "Oud Republicans". We usually prefer oud makers and skilled luthiers to kings. Even "Masters" can cause severe allergy.
Why don't you just show us the work of your respected father , it is always a pleasure to hear and see ouds, we like it a lot here, but when I read words like King I just don't want to click the links anymore.

Alami
Oud subject

Totally agree with ALAMI

corridoio - 4-19-2010 at 05:05 PM

indeed.
this is not a good way to try to sell anything, even an oud.

3-
turkish model (amazing player)

This is Bashir Gharbi, a Tunisian player and I doubt that this oud is for your father

suz_i_dil - 4-20-2010 at 08:23 AM

Indeed, wasn't this oud presented in the past as a Faruk Turunz work?
I remember this but there are a few difference of design with Mr Faruk usual work.

Luttgutt - 4-20-2010 at 10:47 AM

Thank you for the answer and clarification tibo!

Please note that we are not denying that El Tayeb is a good maker.

Suz-i-dil, this oud resembles this (eccept for the pick guard)

... but I have seen a oud that resembles it... just can't remember where

Allright...another one like this we got totally lost ;)
The one you send remind me also of this oud played by Necati Celik
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LUOkl2YO-U
I can't remember where I read that, but this one would be from a wellknown luthier in Ankara. But I can't remeber his name.

Anyway , and as told you luttgut. Tibo, indeed the 2 first links are showing nice arabic ouds from your father. But we are just being confused by the last one.

I really like your ouds, I just don't like how they are presented, but it is ok. don't worry about it.
i saw many videos on your youtube account before you even post this and they sound very arabic. I like them alot.
Why don't you post nice pictures of your different ouds and maybe a better quality videos would help members here know your ouds better.

Thank you very much. Also it would be very helpful to list the woods used and the specifications of the ouds as well as the PRICE!

fernandraynaud - 4-20-2010 at 05:47 PM

Could you also please use a normal font for writing normal text?

The convention is THAT IF I WRITE LIKE THIS IT'S TO EXPRESS I AM SHOUTING!!!! And if we write in huge bold red letters it's like screaming, and also hard to read

Thank You

Looks like some nice ouds at sensible prices. That's very helpful, Tibo. Can you please post more photos, like the front of the Teakwood $325 Egyptian Design and the front of the $150 mixed wood one?

Please give the following some careful thought. Can you do a special quality control as a favor for us so that if a newcomer who is undecided comes to us and asks where to get a nice but inexpensive oud buys one of your $150 ouds he (or she!) will be sure to get a decent oud to get started on, before deciding to buy a more elegant model a little later? If you can do this I think it would be a wonderful and powerful way to promote the instrument and the music we all love!

Luttgutt - 4-28-2010 at 04:21 AM

Well done tibo! :applause:
