Hi Katakofka, have you stopped playing floating bridge oud, or is it a second one? Very nice sound and appearance ...
I also liked your playing and singing very much.
Thanks for sharing
Robert

No Robert. This oud is for Adel Ibrahim a friend of mine. I have 2 floatings and no way to think about a third one : )
Actually Adel has 2 fixed bridges 6 strings ouds. One is 35cm width and the other is 37 (the one I am playing in here). I saw no difference in sound
between the floating and the fixed bridge except that the smaller bowl, the 35cm, has less volume as compared to the floating. However, the 37cm is
similar to the floatings.
I still have preference to the floatings for the only reason that they are 7 strings not 6 and the strings are closer to each other on the 7 strings
making the playability more comfortable.

I ordered a 7 course fixed bridge Oud from a wonderful guitar maker and also oud player Sebastian Stenzel. He lives in my village. I love to be
involved in the whole process of making. He is studying oud and lute building since 20 years and I kind of became a catalyst to finally realizing this
branch of his knowledge.
There is a thread on that in the forum:

I trust fully that he's going to build a very good oud. I also would have had trust in Fadi Matta, but somehow the personal connection and friendship
decided to go this way.
I like the sound of Fadis fixed bridge oud very much, it kind of sounds fuller to my ears, but of course it depends so much on the recording as
well
wish you all the best
Robert
