ilnokaly - 4-28-2010 at 11:58 AM

hi oud lovErs
I would like to know something
How A taqsim is made ?
Is there any rules ?
And how a taksim saba (for example) is better than another one using the same maqam ?
Mabye these questions are obvious but not to me since im a beginner
And here a little taksim from me
Is this right ?

Thanx

umm... first of all, a good taqsim is a taqsim in which we have the correct intervals. the rest is the feeling. n it depends on our moods. we cant always say which taqsim is better, someone(me) may like Naseer Shamma's taqsims, others may like Marcel Khalife's. there ain't any rules to say which taqsim is certainly better.

taksim (Turkish), or Taqasim (Arabic), is based on makam (maqam, dastagh (persian)), for classical music (be it Turkish, Arabic or Persian). Check this link (Turkish taksim/makamlar), it features, amongst others, Cinuçen Tarıkorur:

enjoy!
