Üstad Necati Çelik has brought a very fine new Mustafa oud here to the US. He is performing concerts on it, and it will be available when he returns
to Turkey early in September. Needless to say, the sound and action are outrageous. The price is $2100. You can see photos of the oud at

Hi there
Nice Oud! Im curious a bit about the design of some of this fine Turkish Oud made by some famous maker... certain part of the Oud seems to have an
identical look to each other for example the rossette and peg box. Is it true they getting this parts from the same people who mass produce them and
then assemble it at their workshop? or....any idea?

Hi Hank,
I was fortunate enough to see Usta Necati's performance here in L.A. last night. I saw that beautiful oud too, and it truly was fantastic. It had
that beautiful taraby buzz to it, and of'course Necati's playing made it even better. I believe the oud was sold last night.

I got to hear this played while at the Mendocino camp last week.
Wow.
I had to pass up up several instruments knowing I would be coming home to some much needed car repairs - otherwise...

Dear Mike et al,
The oud you saw in Necati's performace in LA was a different instrument from the one shown on the http://www.musicaravan.com site. It was indeed sold, but had been actually purchased earlier. They were, however, almost identical. The one shown
was played in a concert last night (8/27) in San Francisco. We may have a sample of the sound in a couple of days, as the concert was recorded--that
is, if the oud is still available! --Hank
