Hello my friends!
I am at the wonderful position to present you the birth of my Alexandris Jannis ' Bashir like' 7 course oud step by step!
At the moment i have a Turkish faruk grand concert 6 course oud, but after a long period of thinking, my needs turned me to a 7 course Bashir like
oud!
So, i've start to think and speak with some friends like my good friend Spyros 'that the most of you know here', and of course with my good friend and
amazing luthier Alexandris Jannis who is going to make my oud!
Now the period of thinking and talking hopefuly has passed away!
And i will like to share with you the amazing process of the building of an oud (my oud) that we all love!
So today we have the selection of woods:
For the bowl Jannis is going to use a wood from a very old mulberry tree (more than 300 years old) which was built in an old house in the island of
Crete, and came to Jannis workshop some years ago in order to make a cretan Lute for Stelios Petrakis! So the remaining wood will hopefully give my
oud bowl!
For the soundboard he is going to use an old German spruce top, almost 50 years old! (He has a great stock of real old woods).
When he finishes something i will upload the pictures:
At the moment enjoy the old mulberry and spruce!

Hello my friends!
Have in mind that i told Jannis to construct the oud after he finishes all his other instruments, because i am not in hurry so the proceedure is
longer than it should be!

Nearly there my friend, no hurry

Hello my friends!
Yesterday i went to Jannis and witnessed the final stage of my new birth oud!
Tomorrow i will be there again to get it because Jannis most of the times needs a day with his instruments before he gives them to the their new
owners.
The only thing i can say is that, at the moment i saw it and heard it, i was ''1.000.000% happy'' from the magnificent outcome!
Can't wait to take it tomorow and play it for me and for you to see and hear!
I will try to make some improvisational videos in order for you to see and hear the sound of the oud and it's potentials!
At the moment enjoy the following pictures........

Hey my friends,
I am very pleased that you 've liked my Oud!
Thank you very much my friend Spyros and Leon!
I am happy to be the owner of this instrument, first because it really exceeds my expectations and second because it is an instrument that my good
friend Jannis made for me, with love and care!!!
I hope that you've understood the sound and the potentials of the oud because the recording quality is a little poor due to the fact that it is
recorded by my photo camera!
Be Well my friends and keep on playing!!!

Thank you Leon!
You see it's much better for a player if the instrument inspires him and with it's playability helps him play easier and express his self.
After a while i will write a tune with reall microphones with no effects in order to capture the pure sound of the instrument. I will share it
here.
keep in touch........
