lol
I have two Safi's : 1955, 1957 great pieces !
How old is this one offered on ebay ?
Is it possible to capture the label from another angel, so that one may read what's on it ?
Yours indeed

I had one from the 70s, it wasn't very good. This one looks nicer.

Hi
Unfortunately I'm not the owner, and don't have enough money to buy this oud, just posted the info for US members here so they can share with us if
one of them could buy it, hope it's the case.

Who is Luthier Mahmoud Safi ?
From what I've heard & read, he used to work in Damascus in the 50's - 70's & might have been an assistant of GHN or other Nahat . Is he still
active/alive ? Is this oud here a new one or what ?
Any info would be highly appreciated !
Do we have any Syrian members with us ?
Thanks
Yours indeed

My brother in Damascus has an oud that is the same year and looks identical to the one posted. It has a uniquely beautiful tone and is constructed in
high professional quality. Its kind of funny because he has at least eight other ouds at any given time, all made by the greatest luthiers in Syria
and Egypt and yet this obscure anomaly gets some of the most gig time. I have been trying to find one of these for years now and am finding they
simply aren't being sold anywhere. I really wish I could have got my hands on this one. Someone got a steal. If anyone stumbles on another one of
these beauties, let me know!
