Bay Area oud enthusiasts are invited to attend a unique multicultural/multimedia event in Albany, CA, 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 14, 2011.
The Pacifica Institute/Bay Area Cultural Connections, an organization based in the SF Bay Area Turkish community, will be hosting a Ramadan Iftar with
slide show and live oud music (yours truly) in their new offices in Albany.

Note that the event is FREE, but space is limited (80 - about 1/2 full as of mid-day 8/5/11) and RSVPs are requested (email address on flyer).

Preliminary repertoire includes:
-Excerpts from 2 Misirli Ibrahim pieces;
-Turkish Illahi and Hebrew song to same melody;
-Hebrew Psalm sung to Jerusalem/Ottoman melody;
-Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) song with Turkish chorus.
Don't know exactly how much time I'll have to perform...will have to play it by ear.
