Classic, old Egyptian Wasla music.
I heard of this singer first from 'The Cairo Trilogy' by Naguib Mahfouz.
In the book, Al-Sayyid Ahmad Abd al-Jawad, one of the main characters says he doesn't like the 'new' style of Oum Kasloum ,and prefers stuff like
this.
I like both, but this shows the traditional style that pre-dates the new style that Oum Kalsoum and Mohammed Abdel Wahab pioneered.
