Greetings Fellow Oud-Maniacs,
I have been invited to provide some supplementary entertainment (between 2nd & 3rd ensembles) at a multi-ensemble concert in San Francisco (CA)
this Sunday, March 25th. A flier is attached. Included are my friend oud-friend from New York, Basya Schechter; my oud teacher from Israel, Yair
Dalal; and my favorite Arabic-style oud player, Palestinian master Taiseer Elias.
My group has been asked to perform during the dinner break (5:30-7PM) . We will be lead singer Eliana Kissner, Daniel Eshoo on kanun, me on oud,
Aharon Bolsta on darbukka, riqq, and “special” Yemeni oil can, with special guest Be’eri Moalem joining us on viola (and/or violin) on several
songs. We are tasked with keeping things interesting and discouraging concert-goers from leaving before the evening concert. (Though I think you’d
have to be crazy to leave without hearing Taiseer!) Please join us!

Sounds awesome. Wish I could go. Any chance of videos?

No harm in asking. I will ask the Festival organizers.

I just emailed an inquiry to the Festival. Will let you know if/when I hear back.

Ahalan Ameer,
The reply from Festival's sound engineer regarding posting video footage of the concerts is, "We are planning on it!" I will try to remember to post
in the Forum if and when they do so...remind me if I don't!
Thanks,
Udi John
