Hi!
My dad is going to Istambul in september, and I wanted to know if he could get me a good oud, by $1000.
Things to consider:
He will only be there a week.
I prefer a 12 strings (or maybe would be nice to have a 13 strings) oud
I don't really want fancy stuff made with nacre, I don't like those things. A minimalist looking Oud is perfect for me.
I want a very well constructed and finished oud, with no flaws at all.
The neck has to be glued to the body, with no action adjust mechanism or anything that makes the oud loss sustain.
He will be in september, so the luthier has to have ouds already made.
Any suggestions of how to make sure I get a good oud from a luthier, and which ones are good?
Any other suggestion about this is very welcome.
Thanks a lot!!

Yes, definitely another vote for Faruk Türünz.

And another vote for Mr Turunz. He can be trusted, his usual ouds cost over $3000, but he recently started offering a $1000 instrument, much as you
describe. You should probably contact him and reserve an instrument so it can be ready and picked up without the shipping costs.

Wow, if 4 very respected members agree with the same luthier, I feel safe buying from him!
Thanks guys!
