I am selling this beautiful Turkish oud. I purchased it several months ago from Mavrothi Kontanis, who many of you know has been selling reasonably
priced ouds of very high quality.
This is a small-bodied oud with a short string length: 57cm.
The top is unfinished spruce, the bowl is wenge and mahogany, and the pegs and extended fingerboard are ebony. The details along the neck and pegboard
are really exquisite.
More importantly, it has a beautifully balanced sound. The trebles are crisp, the mids are punchy, and there is a surprising amount of bass despite
the small body.
My reason for selling is simple: I have discovered through owning 3 ouds that I prefer the Arabic ouds' size and tone. This is a beautiful instrument,
but I'm not the right owner for it.
I'm asking exactly what I paid for it: $800 plus shipping.
Additional photos available upon request.

Forgot to mention that I'm in Brooklyn. Anyone who wants to come give it a test drive is certainly welcome.conroystoptime - 12-12-2012 at 08:06 AM

We are each selling good Turkish ouds on opposite coasts and have not sold them yet. You have lowered the price, creating a true bargain. Perhaps we
should take the opposite approach and each RAISE the price. Maybe that will make our ouds more attractive. OK, my Sandi Oud and Najarian case,
previously priced at $1125 is now for sale for $1300. Any takers?spyros mesogeia - 2-20-2013 at 02:52 PM
