Our fellow forum member Ahmad Abdel Al Jaleel from Kuwait, has decided 15 months ago to make a replica of a great designed oud of the immortal luthier
Abdo Nahat, for his/our friend Ahmad Al Salhi, the founder & moderator of "Zeryab Musical Forum".
He started from selecting suitable walnut species and came across a rare piece of figured walnut which made that original design, as shown in the
photos. All the ornaments and the special designs were hand-made by the luthier. No machinery, not even one, was involved !
Date started July 7, 2011. Date finished Oct 12, 2012 !
A medium size booklet could be written about this unique work of art, but better a photo than a thousand words. Therefore, here are the photos telling
us the story of two friends who shares the same passion for ouds, though Al Salhi is an accomplished violinist rather than oudist.

An amazing work of art, I love the figured walnut choice as it gave it a special character.

As to the sound file, well Alsalhy is in UK, while the oud is still @ the luthier's workshop waiting for a professional player to drop in and play it.
