Hello everyone, I have a Turkish oud which in my opinion I've pretty much "totalled." I am looking to have it repaired, but I suspect it will not be
worth it and I will end up buying a new one. Therefore I am looking for anyone to repair or sell a Turkish oud in
1. Detroit area
2. Chicago area
or
3. New York area
thanks

John Vergara (bulerias81)

he is in NYC very qualified for the repair.

+1 John is very good (a little outside NYC but not too far, and he comes into the city regularly).
Others in NY are Najib Shaheen and Haig Manoukian, but I would talk to John first. Najib does excellent Arabic soundboards and Haig can do minor
repairs, but John is the one who would be best suited for some major repairs, check out the job he did on Bassam Saba's Nahat.
It depends what you mean by "totaled" --did you sit on it? Was it a valuable instrument to start with? If it was an average $300 Turkish oud, then it
will likely not be worth repairing severe damage. If it was a really nice instrument, then probably it is worth it.
