For those who live in germany I can recommend a workshop weekend with Mustafa Said in Mannheim from the 15th - 17th march.

I am happy to announce another concert in the context of the summeracademy: Broukar - Trio -- 2.8., 20 Uhr
BROUKAR was founded in 2007 in Damascus, Syria. The group is composed of five musicians including one Dervish Whirling
Dancer. Together they emphasize the authentic interpretations of traditional maqam music, its compositional and improvisational techniques that are
unique to non-Western musical culture. They explore classical, neo-classical and popular maqam music with the revival of the musical heritage of the
Middle East. The city of Damascus has long been one of the Arab World's centres for culture and artistic innovation, especially in the field of
classical Arab music. The group plays traditional Arab music (singing and instrumental music), with secular and sacred topics as well. Indeed, Sufi
music comes from Sufism, a practice of Islam, and is directly associated with the Whirling Dervish dance. This dance is based primarily on the
rotation and hand movements in praise of God. Taoufik Mirkhan, Kanun Adnan Fathalla, Aoud Amer Dahbar, percussion
Interessante Nachrichten. Ich werde im nächsten August in Freiburg sein, um Deutsch zu lernen. Aber ich reise am 30. August nach Spanien ab.
Wie Schade!
Alles das klingt super! Hab ein schöner Kurs!
Hello Nouphar,

miss something!
But anyway, do we see at the 2nd of august at the concert of BROUKAR?

As I said to Matthias, the Oriental Summer Music Academy of Badenweiler is now becoming an important spot for oriental music in Europe.
For us the musicians, it is a fantastic opportunity to learn with excellent teachers and to meet other musicians for sharing our knowledges.
Moreover, the organization is perfect.
I already have participated three times. I look forward to the fourth.

Salut Robert!
Yes, we had a great time there this year, four days full of music, working in oud, kanun, percussion, ney and vocal classes, a lot of fun and laughter
in between and during meals - really very rich four days!!! Met so many good people, from many different countries, and made new friends among all
these fellow-musicans...
For me it was the first time to participate, but I will come back next year for sure.
And we had great teachers of course. Adel Salameh on oud for example.

Dear Friends,
I will be no longer teaching at the summer accademy, for the students who are interested in studying with me and their are many of them, they can join
other workshops which are organised all over Europe...
for more info , please contact me at
salameh.adel@gmail.com
best wishes, AdelMatthias - 11-21-2013 at 03:07 AM
Dear Friends,
I't a pitty that Adel did the decision not to teach any longer at my summeracademy. I regret this very much! He is doing so many of his great
workshops. Therefore I asked him to leave some time and distance inbetween his other workshops and the summeracademy. But unfortunately it seems that
he could not arrange this.
I hope that it is poossible for him to come again in 2015!
Be shure that I will find and invite soon another Oud teacher for the summeracademy in 2014 and I will publish it soon here.
All the best
MatthiasAdel Salameh - 11-21-2013 at 03:51 AM
Yes Matthias...
first of all, I remember when you came to my house back in 2010 and we have talked about this project , I remember telling you that I will stand by
you and let us go for it..also I have suggested to invite our friends Adel Shams El Din...
You also have told me that you have tried this with Raed Khoshaba and did not work....
the first year, I remember, I had 4 students, non of us cared about the money, we had one thing in our heads... we must succeed ...
now the summer school is well known, thanks to your input, Adel Shams El Din and my work too...
I have many students all over Europe... over 100 students, they need me, I am their for them...I will give them as much as I can...let me remind you
of one thing.... most oud players in the Arab world say that they have studied with Munir Bashir...I am saying this openly...
Munir bashir has taught NO body....
You are asking me to cancel my workshop in Lausanne , in fact You are asking me not to teach their 3 months before and 3 months after the summer
school... 6 months I have to abandon my students... within a circle of 270 KM, I am not allowed to teach for 6 months....The answer is NO ...I am free
to do what I want... nobody will stop me from teaching and giving as long as I have students who are looking to learn from me ...I am their for
them....
Good luck ,
Adel Matthias - 11-22-2013 at 11:19 AM
Dear friends,
as the theme Adel spoke about, is a private thing and not necessary to be discussed here, I will not answer it.
Only one information I must give to you:
Adel said:
You also have told me that you have tried this with Raed Khoshaba and did not work....
This is absolutely incorrect. I organized two workshops with Raed Koshaba. There came more students than to Adels first workshops. The students liked
the workshops with Raed very much, as he is an excellent teacher and musicon. Several friendships and projects have arisen from that.
Best regards
MatthiasAdel Salameh - 11-23-2013 at 03:06 AM
There came more students than to Adels first workshops
That may be is true...look how many students have studied with me this year...11 Students out of the 16...
This summer school was built by Adel Shams El Din and Adel Salameh.. You did the paper work and the administration.. without Adel Shams and myself
this school would have never seen the light.
You have used my name and Adel Shams to succeeds ...nothing wrong with this ... but to impose on one of the founder that he can't teach for 6 months
withen a Circle of 270 KMs of Badenweiler ...I think this is very immoral of you... you did this with me , you will do it with other teachers...
Students are not their to buy your strings and ouds... they are their to study Arab music...
You can't impose on me to play your ouds in the workshops and in my concerts when I do not like these instruments...
If I do like the oud I will play it everywhere and you do not have to ask me to do this...look at Wolfgang oud...it has been in my hand for the last 7
years...Its not my problem if the students go and buy Wolfgang ouds...they liked his oud ... they ask him to make ouds for them
