I put this book together a few years ago.

Finally got a scanned copy.

I hope this is a useful collection of pieces for anyone interested.:)

many thanks, I have been trying to buy the maqam anthology book from "Oudstrings", but apart from being expensive, the only unit left is said to be flawed, many thanks again, you are great, Sandranis:applause::applause::applause::applause:

Yes, unfortunately the printer made some errors with the last batch and I haven't found another printer to make it . . . glad to see that Jono is making it available for everyone.

Hey.

Thanks Brian for selling the book on your site in the past.
Much appreciated.:)

I wanted to contribute something useful to the Mike's Oud's community as this site has been incredibly helpful for me.
Particularly living at the 'ends of the earth' (NZ), LOL.

Also there are many pieces available in Turkish notation, so I wanted to improve the traditional repertoire for the Arabic oud.

Hey.

I am glad to be able to contribute something useful :)

I played some pieces from the book the other day, it has been ages.

Now I am working with earlier pieces from he Ali Ufki and Demetrie Cantemir collections.
Mostly just working on the pieces that date from the 1500's or earlier.
The difference in styles is noticeable.
The earlier pieces are much more rhythmic and very Persian sounding.
