Hi, I am 15 years old, I love Arabic music and look up to legends like Wadi el Safi, Fairouz, Oum Kalthoum and many other Lebanese Arabic artists.
I am currently thinking about learning the Oud before it gets too late, although I don't know anything about them apart from there beautiful sound. I
have done a lot of research knowing the different types of oud but am still having trouble finding one under $500, but still good quality. Can
somebody help?

Don't worry, it's never too late.
According to Gokce Engin, this year he started selling cheap beginner ouds.
http://www.turkishouds.com email him for details. info@turkishouds.com
Sukar Ouds are good. http://www.oudsukar.com/
If you really can't find any then your last resort would be arabinstruments.com. They also sell some Sukar models and they ship.
Good luck man!

Please James, share your experience! What did you eventually get? I'm a beginner as well, but a very passionate one! My budget is limited, too; I
don't want to pay more than $1000 at this time. So, I looked for a Sukar oud, but from what I understood I guess they don't sell ouds anymore due to
the war in Syria. All the ones on ArabInstruments.com are out of stock. *sigh* Another thing is that I don't want to buy any oud without making sure
it's gonna be comfortable and this very part is the hardest. No one seems to be able to help! Any advice or suggestion would be tremendously
appreciated!
