Highly recommended CD "Silent Wave" by Ziad El Ahmadie oud, Jeremy Chapman (saxophone, flute), Miles Jay (double bass). Oud nuevo/jazz fusion but
deeply rooted in maqam tradition. Great empathy between players.

Nice CD indeed, Jeremy Chapman and Miles Jay, lived for a long period in Lebanon and it is true that you can feel the harmony between the 3 of them, I
heard Miles once improvising live a great Taksim Bayat on his double bass.
Here is the music video of the piece "Organized Chaos" from the CD:

Nice video and cd, indeed!
Does anyone of you guys know what kind of oud Ziad el Ahmadie is playing?
Can anyone tell more about Ziad el Ahmadie himself (I didn't meet that name before)?

He plays a Nazih Ghadban oud.
Ziad plays many styles from fusion to traditional, he is also a very good oud teacher, I studied with him years ago.
Lately he formed a traditional takht ensemble (oud, Kanun, violin and riq) with the performer Abdul Karim El Shaar, one of the most beautiful voices
and a master in traditional Tarab, they perform monthly one different Oum Koulthum song in a nice small theater, a real joy.
If anyone happens to be in Beirut (although not likely with these gloomy days) it is an event not to miss.
