Hi,
It seems I have accidentally purchased a Barbat case I thought was an oud case!
The length is the same for typical Turkish style oud, but the body width is much smaller, which would work for a traditional barbat or a lavoud by
Dimitris Rapakousios.
Anyone with a Barbat or Lavoud looking for a nice and rather inexpensive hard case, please email me. The price is $150 + shipping.
Here are the INSIDE dimensions (make sure your instrument will fit):
Total Internal Length (tip of pegbox to end of bowl): 31.5" = 80.01cm
Width at pegbox: 5" = 12.7cm
Bowl length: 19.5" = 49.53cm
Max internal bowl depth (lid closed): 9.25" = 23.495cm
Max internal bowl width: 12.5" = 31.75cm
Photos attached. It is a nice and lightweight case with strings compartment, and looks barely used.
Thank you,
mavrothi
