hello oud lovers , i wanted to share with you my last acquisition , an oud that im extremely satisfied with !
yellow mahogany (quite rare wood) bowl with
20 years old pine moski soundboard
fingerboard is ebony on sycamore (maple) 20 cm with fingy wood after the soundboard
mop inlay
bridge fingy on MOP decoration on a solid teak wood (also rare wood)
and those lovely old olive wood pegs
and stringed with aquila light tension
string length 60 cm
he amazingly masters the sound , for this one i wanted the big old sound of asabguy style, pure , clear , i call it "cave sound texture" is like you
are playing from a cave and with no surpises , he did exactly the way i
wanted
yes my friends , thats mahmoud mostafa , fathy amin talented successor owning his master's old workshop in saida aisha , old cairo
here are the pictures , and he was smiling from the heart when i took this picture of him , when he was assembling the MOP binding of my oud, such a
lovely guy with great craftmanship !
and here is the soundclip (a modest taqsim of me :

Do you mind sharing how you paid for the oud?
Seems like a nice instrument, its also very nice to see the oud maker himself.
