Available traditional feather rishas for oud playing
majnuunNavid - 9-22-2014 at 07:24 PM
that looks pretty cool. But where can I get one?

Hello,
Where are you located?
I found a bunch of feathers which are the real feathers for authentic oud rishas.
I happen to be a sculptor (...and an oud player... ) and so I really "sculpt" them into the right shape, "volume", thickness, etc..by hand, with a lot
of care and attention (...they are precious..), before I dip them into olive oil for 6 months.
I make them very flexible for Rabih Abou Khalil and Ihab Radwan. I make them also a bit stiffer for Mustafa Saïd who likes his rishas a bit hard.
How do you like your rishas best, flexible, very flexible, hard, a little hard, etc... please describe your preference ...?
I charge $ 170, including safe shipment in a small wooden cigar box.
If you're interested to try one, please send your complete postal adress, together with a Western Union code for payment.
Many thanks,
All the best,
Jean-Loup Msika

Are they Eagle feathers or Pearooster feathers?
Jason - 9-25-2014 at 06:21 PM
Yep if selling to the USA or Candada we'd need to know what kind of bird it comes from. Eagle feathers are strictly regulated and would probably get
nabbed at customs.
