Warda's "Ana Andi Baghbaghan" vs Sayyid Darwish's "Ya Baghat El Rouh"

John Erlich - 9-24-2014 at 12:49 PM

Does anyone have a better quality score for this song sung by Warda: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyV4k7wcUvc

I have only the attached, tiny image.

I am OK with the pixelated image, but I don't want my oud student to go blind trying to read it!

Thanks,
"Udi" John

"Ya Bahget El Rouh" by Said Darwish

John Erlich - 10-18-2014 at 09:06 PM

OK...silly me! I finally located my CD recording of the song I thought was Warda's "Ana Andi Baghbaghan" and realized it was actually "Ya Baghat El Rouh" by Said Darwish. Other than that obvious fact that the former song is in 4/4 and the latter in 3/4, you can see hear the similar opening phrase that confused me.

Here are 3 versions from YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fEPd500kR0
Wadih El Safi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WBfrVtmZbM (song starts @ 3:12)
Sabah Fakhri: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbTjyEvrlps

I am attaching the music sheet that alerted me to my error. The truth is, both songs are GREAT: Maybe I will play them together as a "wasla" (suite/medley)!

Thanks again to Alfaraby for the Warda music sheet!

Peace out,
"Udi" John

"Ana Andi Baghbaghan" with Intro

I decided that I like the song "Ana Andi Baghbaghan" by Warda so much, that I needed to transcribe and add the introduction/interlude Adel Samuel's music sheet.

Here is Warda's version of the song on Ah Ya Salam: http://www.ahyasalam.com/play_song.php?songmd=cabe22ebbbff0561b7b51...

Attached is my updated version of the music sheet.

Peace out,
