Has anyone tried the MAQAM MASTERY PROGRAM??

Hello,
I have a discrete tecnique on the oud, but I still have problems in understanding Maqamat. I was thinking of getting the MAQAM MASTERY PROGRAM by OUD FOR GUITARISTS. Has anyone got it? Any feedbacks?
Thank you very much!

I have tried it, and I think it's a great introduction to Arabic makams. It basically covers the structure of a good number of makams, broken down into component tetrachords. Navid demonstrates how to play inside of the tetrachords, emphasizing the tonic, dominant, and secondary tones, and then how to use the tetrachords as a basis for modulation between makams.

When I say I think it's an "introduction", that's coming from a Turkish makam music perspective, where it seems there is much more emphasis on seyir (melodic progression), etc., etc. So if that material was presented for "Turkish makams", I would say it's an introduction. It's possible that from an Arabic perspective it's more than that...if indeed there is less structure/material associated with each makam. Since this is my first real exposure to any kind of Arabic makam "training", it's hard for me to give a more nuanced perspective.

Thanks a lot David! May I ask you which module did you buy? Cheapest, medium or more expensive one?

I bought the middle package.
