Happy Hanukkah to those observing, and also those not!
I have to admit that I don't exactly love playing or singing this song, but I finally got around to transposing "Ocho Kandelikas" into a more
oud-friendly key, C Nahawand (I'm an Arabic-style player). This way, I can embellish on the oud and not strain my voice. (Most published versions
have key signatures with sharps.)
The composer, Flory Jagoda, is originally from Sarajevo, Bosnia. She is now 90 years and still performing, as far as I know. The lyrics are in
Ladino, an Eastern-Mediterranean-Jewish dialect of old Spanish.

Note that my version here is more interpretation that straight-forward transcription, and that the ending may be just my (unconscious) snarky little
statement regarding the Tango-like rhythm of the song.
Enjoy!
Peace out,
Udi John
