Hi Stos
I own a teoman kaya oud made in 1981, The body of the oud is very well constructed. The lable inside the oud says it was worked on by another Luthier
in NY. The sound is good the only thing is the sound board is cedar, I took it to Peter Krevolis of Unique Strings and Chris his associate said it
should have a spruce sound board which is the traditional Turkish oud sound board, I assume the NY luthier replaced the sound board with cedar.
If you check with Dincer who is a member with the Forum, he knew Teoman personally and may give you more info.
By the way this was my first oud and I will not part with it. I still play it today and maybe some day will replace the sound board with spruce.
Thanks

If you like the sound, which it seems you do, there is absolutely no reason to replace the cedar sound board.
Some of my favorite ouds have cedar tops.

and by the way I agree with mavrothis, if everything is okay, don't change anything!

Hi Stos
Do you have a photo of your Teoman in particular the rosetts, I was just curios if the rosetts are the same as on mine. And you are right the cedar
top is just fine.
Thanks
Al
