I am going to play with the legendary Eric Andersen. Managed by Brian Epstein (manager of The Beatles), Eric has written classics such as "Blue
River" or "Thirsty Boots". He has written songs for (and is on first-name terms with) Bob Dylan (who always says Eric is a better songwriter than
him), Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Judy Collins, The Grateful Dead, Leonard Cohen, Roger McGuinn (ex-Byrds), to name but a few. He's the songwriter's
songwriter. He is putting together an ambitious project: an album about the great poet George Byron. In order to reflect the unabashed love he had for
Greece, Eric thought of having a dash of exotic instruments to accompany him, and that's where my oud and I come in. I won he audition and secured a
place in the line-up. So, we're playing, inshallah:
- 2nd of September: London, Green Note (in Camden Town)
- 3rd of September: Ravenhead (don't know the venue but you''ll be adjourned))
- 5th of September: Nottingham, Robin Hood Festival, Newstead Abbey Park. This concert will be recorded and released as a CD, and televised for a
DVD.
I hope you can all make it, at least for one of the dates.....
