so probably there are 2 or 3 more guys that play so lets say 3000 in the whole world

Most seriously I don't think this kind of register exist ! Unless unopened files from a obscurious arab regime next to the name of your favorite tv show and datas on your daily bowel movement

as a track of comparison:
facebook guitar page as interest: 11 500 000 members
the same for oud: 39 000 members (don't confuse with the oud as a perfume)

the most viewed video on youtube
guitar -> 28 400 000
oud -> 1 700 000 (congrats oudProff ! )


Most viewed lesson on youtube:
guitar -> 8 600 000
oud -> 250 000

on the playstore for android
guitar -> an app above the 10 000 000 downloads, several above the 5 000 000
oud -> 20000 / 50 000 downloads for the most populars

Famous and/or popular oud maker pages bring 1700 members (Turunz, Copcuoglu, Sabsaby) and up to 6000 for Zaher Khalifeh.
OUd workshop in Europe pages around 700 members.

Lats but not least the mikeouds member list seems to gather 2800 members

of course those are english speaking medias, but as wide spread tools you can manage an idea of the numbers of oud players. Maybe some tens of thousands ?

So about 50000.

It means 1 oudist for 1000 guitarist. A big development potential

out of curiosity i typed "oud" in Arabic on facebook and found a page dedicated to the oud with 18000 followers.
