Hate to say it, but that's real cheesy Microber.:D How does it smell?

This explains a puzzling incident that took place a few years ago. An oud was sent to me from Turkey and got held up for a long time at the port of entry. The shipping company's brokerage also took a long time to respond to my inquiries as to why a simple lute was being held for so many days. My persistence in the form of phone calls and emails finally yielded an answer: the paperwork was wrong. Again I persisted. Wrong in what way? It was not the proper paperwork for cheese. Cheese? Cheese! ? This a lute, a wooden instrument. Supposedly they routinely x ray incoming parcels. Did the image resemble cheese in any way? The oud arrived at my door the next day. 3000 miles away. Shipping companies and customs people actually can move things forward if they've a mind to.

Until I read your message, Microber, I never understood why they thought it was cheese. I still don't know why they didn't look inside the shipping box but at least the error is not totally bizarre.

Hey Microber,

Maybe try these ones next: the Northwood Classic Oud or the Beemster Premium Rich and Zingy Oud. :D

Jody, maybe the confusion comes from the soundholes...

I think it's the first time there is a topic about cheese that still is "oud related".

Now I wonder what that perfume named "Oud" smells like.
