I was looking for some seasonal music to play with my oud student and stumbled across some scores of Coptic hymns on the web page of the David
Ensemble, from Egypt.
The melodies are not necessarily "catchy," but I like my student to be exposed to as many styles of MENA music, with their different senses of melody,
as possible.
Their web page is here: http://www.davidensemble.com/
The scores are here: http://www.davidensemble.com/english/musicnotation.htm
Happy holidays,

Hi.
Thank you!
I really appreciate you sharing this.
My old oud and nay teacher is Coptic Egyptian.
I was fortunate to attend some informal Church meetings in Christchurch, Atef would play oud and nay along with the chants.
Also attended a traditional service at the Coptic church in St Albans, Christchurch, before the earthquake.
A good experience.
