I was just curious to know about a maker named Safwan Al Bayati.
do you know about ? Maybe the son of Moaz Al Bayati, i'm wondering

Never heared of him!
Even if he does exist he is not top oud maker in iraq

Safwan is a very good friend of mine. I used to visit him at his workshop in Thobbat street in Adhamiya district in Baghdad. He is a graduate of the
academy of fine arts in Baghdad. He studied oud. One of his teachers was Motaz Al-Bayati, who used to repair his ouds also in at Safwan's workshop.
Safwan makes nice floating bridge ouds. I owned one of his ouds long time ago for few years when I had that obsession to play floating bridge ouds.
His ouds sound and look like the ouds made by Faeq Mohammad Fadhel.
He lives now in Australia. He makes ouds there. He is in facebook if you like to see his products.

it was just for my personnal culture, one telling me he went for an oud from him, from year 1999. I was surprised of the date because he seems very
young as far as I have seen from the web.
Faek is reputable, so I guess your friend ouds too...but you know I quit also the " nothing but a floating bridge " mind

Safwan was born in 1970. So he was 29 in 1999.
I sold his oud to a guy, the oud is now somewhere in Germany. It had a full ebony back and cedar soundboard. the shape of the peg box of Safwan's ouds
is very distinguished with nice curves.

There is no ouds made by him and nothing state that he makes oud, only that he graduate from music academy in Iraq !!!
