4 critical factors for creating a real Oud sound with the MultiOud video 3 of 3

Here are some guidelines for making a true Oud sound with the MultiOud. I'm really happy with what I've been able to produce. I used to think the MultiOud couldn't be used in Arabic music, but in fact you can get a good sound out of it.

Hello all,

as the string sets by GODIN are not very informative I have created some sets for the following tunings, assuming a scale of 585 mm

cc, gg, dd, AA, FF, C
ff, cc, gg, dd, AA, F
dd, aa, ee, BB, AA, E

These sets are based on tensions for floating bridge aouds and are less in tension than the first 2 strings of the GODIN set. But anyway also the by me classified "M"-tension set ( https://music-strings.de/Aoud-Saiten-2-1 ) may be used.

i ll be checking your videos out ( just recently discovered your site and videos, and its very cool what youre doing :) )

i never could bond with the Godin instruments. The glissentar in particular i thought was way off base -- tone,weight, fingerboard width, string spacing ( the two strings in each pair were a little too far apart)...maybe theyve made improvements with the multi oud but one huge design flaw i see is limiting to 11 strings. at least with 12 , you can have the standard six string arrangement or a 7 course with a little nut /saddle rework and two single basses. its very limited in its current configuration seems to me.
