so, ya, my 10 year old oud's sound board is having this ongoing cracking problem. Adjusting humidity hasn't prevented it, and it seems pretty clear I
need to get a case that is better at keeping under controlled environment.
The new crack is along the edge of the fretboard, about 4 or 5 inches long. I've had others fixed in the past. It is my limited understanding that
this may be either a humidity problem and or bad wood curing problem.
With those caveats in mind. I am concerned the soundboard is slowly reaching a point of no return, maybe I am being dramatic, but I am wondering these
things:
a) is it fixable as is?
b) can I just replace sound board? How expensive is this?
c) other solutions?
thanks
