Hello,
I have a very nice oud made by John Merjanian in 1991. It plays very well and sounds beautiful - both bassy and crisp.
The feel is just like a Karibyan oud, with very similar tone. It features a mahogany and flamed maple body, with spruce top (including maple inlay
under treble strings). The ebony fingerboard has Karibyan-style inlays.
A pickup was installed by the original owner, and it works very well. I am only the second owner of this oud.
The action is 3mm at the neck joint. There is a ~1" repaired split at the base of the soundboard that is in stable condition. Otherwise the oud is in
nearly perfect condition.
