Beside our experienced teachers from the past years we will have a few new teachers, which I will introduce now here step by step.
Aoud advanced with Nehad El Sayed, Cairo / Bern, Suiss
In my workshop for advanced oud players I concentrate on helping the students to develop their own skills in different directions.:
First of all how could they work to develop their Sound according to their own taste of music.
Second how to get the best result out of their practice time by using some new Technology methods which is easy to use as well available for
everyone.
All of this will be achieved throw our working process (in group as well individual lessons) on 4 different piece:
Samai Rahet Arwah composed by Mamdouh El-Gebaly
Law Kan Ly Ganah composed by Nasser Shamma
Hobby composed by Mohammed Abd El-Wahab
Samai Kurd composed by Said El-Chraibi
My choice for those 4 pieces is to give the oud players the chance to work in totally different styles with different art of ornaments, Rhythms and
Maqams.

Hello Matthias!
Is it possible to get leadsheets for those musical pieces? I fear I can't participate this year because of hip joint surgery, but having a look at
what's being taught would be interesting anyway.Matthias - 6-14-2017 at 12:08 PM

Hello Matthias!
Maybe I should have been more precise. Indeed I meant the scores of the music. Is it possible to get them?Matthias - 6-16-2017 at 08:08 AM

According to our guest country which will be this year Tunisia, we have 2 musicans from there, who are involved in several concerts and also in
teaching.
We are happy to announce that the well know aoud player from Tunis, Achref Chargui will be one of
our special guests:
"Achref Chargui graduated with a Diploma in Arab music in 2002 and the following year he was awarded a prize for the
best oud player by the 'La Rachida' cultural and artistic asociation, which specialises in Tunisian music. He also received an MA in musicology and
cultural studies in 2009 and is currently working towards his doctorate. Achref has been an oud instructor at the Institut Supérieur de Musique de
Tunis and Conservatoire Nationale de Tunis in Tunisia since 2007, and has performed at a number of international festivals as a solo artist and with
various ensembles. His most recent project is the Achref Chargui Trio, which combines Arab music with the improvisational approach of
jazz."
If there will be minimum 5 students, we will arrange a separate lesson group with Achref with the focus on Tunisian music. If you are interested, please do your registration soon, that we will be able to plan this.

Those videos from Fadel are GREAT!
He says he is not a teacher but rather is passing on techniques he has learned from talented musicians, but I wish I could tell him how much of a
great teacher he really is. He has a fantastic mannerism that is easy to listen to (he reminds me of Cats Stevens aka Yusuf Islam ) and he has many tips i did not know!!
Thanx to Fadel for making these!! His English is very good as well!
Thanx Mattias for posting.Doc139 - 9-9-2017 at 12:50 AM
Hallo Matthias and friends,
thanks once more for organizing this wonderful summer-academy, Matthias! We had a great time there as participants, meeting interesting people amongst
us participants, we had three good concerts in the evenings, delicious maroccan food at lunch and above all really wonderful teachers. Special thanks
to Mustafa Said and Nehad El Sayed, our two oud teachers: great musicians, inspiring and precise teachers and most of all: the most humble and
generous human beings I know. Thanks for all you gave to us.
