Hello everyone! This is my first post on the forum, so excuse any
noobness.
I am a guitar player currently living in Jerusalem. I'd like to buy an oud. I've never played one before but I absolutely love the sound! Looking
through the forum, there seem to be several good luthiers in Israel (Abu El Alla's name comes up often), but I haven't seen a lot of mentions of
makers based in Jerusalem. I'm willing to spend, say, up to 500$ - I reckon that's a decent amount for a good ambitious-beginner oud?
Please offer any advice, thanks a lot!!

Thanks a lot, Alfaraby!
I was wondering however: do the luthiers you listed also make ouds cheaper than 1500$? (that's the minimum price you give in that thread)
Do you think Nathaniel Cohen (the only guy in Jerusalem who's mentioned) is worth a try?
Cheers!

Welcome fellow
As far as I know, no one of the luthiers charges for visiting him, so go ahead
All of them are real gentlemen, so hesitste not.
500 ? mmmm, well I don't think so. You may find such ouds in the old city market.
