When this Ali Khaleefa 's oud was made?.

Does anyone understand when oud of this Ali Khaleefa was made?

this oud is made in 1997
and it looks like a replica not an original khalifa oud
i 've got one like this here in the past but i sold it
it was so terrible instrument

I also think that this Khaleefa is a replica when thinking at the age of oud.
I think that it is about at 1993 that Ali Khaleefa died.

By the way mourad, what are grounds that you judge this Ali Khalifa to be a replica?

Is someone in other opinions?

The oud was made February 14, 1997 way after Ali Khalifa died.

The rosettes are plastic.

Look at the sloppy glue gobs on the lower left hand side of the rosette. Old Ali would never have allowed this oud to bear his name.

It looks pretty from a distance though.

i think i saw this oud on ebay it said it was 8 years old on the posting, i beleive.

The real Ali khalifa (the one pictured) Was made in 1993 , I was going to buy it from EmmazMrket in Japan. he still have it pictured but it was sold at 200.000.00 Yens about $2000.00 . It is a very nice Oud wish i can find one.Regards samir

Any one knows if they still make the Ali Khaleefa ouds in Syria , I cant find a site of his or his sons.thank you Samir
