Hello to all .
i have been exploring this song a lot lately:
https://youtu.be/za2kiZPxFRg
This song is in the hijazkar kurd maqam with very effective modulations.
The recording sounds like a 1940's period Oum Kalsoum to me.
Can anyone help me with any information on this song please?

This site is a useful resource:
http://almashriq.hiof.no/egypt/700/780/umKoulthoum/Songs/
According to them, it's by Riad al Sounbati and was composed in 1949

Thank you Brian.
The site you linked to is exactly what I was looking for .
I have been also listening to Raq el Habib
https://youtu.be/DBDhNWwwsOc - and stumbled on this blog; it has some interesting comments and analysis as well as different recordings.

This is the info' from the Al Mashriq site on this one:
Raqq il-habib, composed in 1941 by Mohammad al-Qasabji and Ahmad Ramy in the Nahawand maqam, Ughniyah form.
Ghana el Rabea is another one from the same (CLASSIC AS!) period (1940's) of Oum Kalsoum's recordings.
