Okay, I am done with anything but persian ouds. I received the one in the first link below. From the recordings it may not sound much out of the
ordinary, but I have not seen perfection like this before. the notes far up the fingerboard are almost the same in volume and tone as the ones at the
beginning. the volume of the bowl is nothing extraordinary but the sound is much warmer than i am used to. The playability is great. the craftsmanship
is real (whereas with many ouds from other countries it looks mostly sloppy). the oud in the third link is not hossein karimian but mohammadi
brothers. That is really beyond my price range :-}

Wow - what a performance of the oud player in this third video, great! thanks for sharing, Hans.
By the way: does anybody know if there are any recordings / cd's of the Qatar oud festival available?

I don't think there's any kind of official CD/ audio recording of the Katara oud festival, however they certainly have video footage of the full
event. I can ask the organisers if you like.

there are a few videos on youtube, but not many. Was the same with the oud festival in the netherlands, everything was filmed but hardly anything was
put on the internet
