Hello Oud Friends,
My friend here in Seattle, WA is a luthier specializing in the Persian Kemenche , he’s built a few ouds over the past couple of years, i want to
share his latest creation with the forum and get some feedback on the sound. We strung it up this morning and i really love the sound, still making
some adjustments but i would appreciate some feedback from my fellow oud players
This a 61 cm scale and has a red cedar top

Thanks !

from the video, sounds very nice. can never be totally sure without hearing it in person but sounds full, balanced and warm here.

Hamed,
The Oud looks beautiful! I also love the sound. It seems to have a very nice deep Arabic sound. I am in Portland, l would like to know more about this
local luthier. Does he custom build Ouds only or does he have some already built Ouds for sale?
Congratulations on your new instrument!
Edward

Hello, thanks for checking it out and giving feedback.
This was built by Mehrdad Azadi, we actually met thanks to this forum ( thanks Mike, Samir, and Greg!)
This oud does not belong to me but i’m testing it out for a few days and haven't been able to put it down. You may contact Mehrdad directly through
his website below if you like, he has a few ouds that he’s built and has experimented with different sizes / styles but his true passion lies with
these larger arabic ouds.
This oud is actually not finished yet, but i’ll post some photos when it’s complete as the workmanship is very good
Here is the website:

Thanks again!

Sounds like a great Oud. It's tuned quite low though. I'd like to hear what it sounds like higher too. I also prefer larger Ouds.
