Hello everyone,
Have a look at this broken oud:

I assume it would need a new soundboard? The rib would probably be repairable; soundboard I'm guessing not.
Alternatively, would it be possible to lift the fingerboard off this broken oud to use on an otherwise perfectly fine oud (but one that has a bubinga
fingerboard instead of an ebony one)? Is that even a feasible procedure?
Thanks for your comments, let me know if anything wasn't clear.
Cheers

In my opinion that's fixable. I can fix it by replacing the missing spruce on the top. And the rib can be patched.

Bubinga is not a very good choice for fingerboard in my opinion. It is hard but prone to cracks with humidity changes.

Thanks Samir.
Good to know it may be fixable. The oud is not mine at the moment, but may be donated to me at a later date.
Cheers
