Two new recordings

MrOud - 3-24-2005 at 08:21 PM

Hi all,

Here is a link where you can download two tracks I played for someone's recording. The recordings were used as background music for a poem reading CD (no singing)
Memleketim and Sevda are the two new ones. I had posted the Ussak taksim here previously.
Enjoy and feel free to comment.

VERY VERY NICE.
I really like your taksims and I have one question for and that is that who is your teacher.
Thanks and Great Job

Oh ya and what type of oud do you use. It's probably a Turkish but who is the maker?
Thanks
David

Got'em now Mike. Very nice! :applause:

MrOud - 3-26-2005 at 07:15 AM

Mike, I am glad you were able to download them.
David, the oud is a Karibyan, built in 1953.
Davidg, I never took formal oud lessons. In my family, everyone is at least a cumbus player :) My father was an excellent violin player until he crashed the bones in his left wrist in a motorcycle accident 30 years ago :(

dear MrOud,

your playing is wonderful ...

Your Oud sounds fantastic - who made this wonderful instrument? I'd be happy to hear from you ...

sincerly,
Cenk

Mike,

Thank you for the beautiful Memleketim.

It has the same ethereal, haunting and meditative qualities that Djivan Gasparyan achieves on duduk.

Regards,

Greg

MrOud - 3-31-2005 at 05:22 PM

Thanks everyone for complimenting.
Cenk, the oud was made by Onnik Uner (Karibyan) in 1953 in Istanbul.

Udi Mike
